If you buy a hand-painted needlepoint canvas, you can expect it to include the canvas, a needle, thread, and instructions. Some kits may also include extras, like fibers, but you should check the description on each. You might need to buy some extras!

The designs vary, but many of them are based around the beautiful island of Nantucket. Erica Wilson came to the USA in the fifties, and she opened her first store on the island – the one that is still up and running today. In-store, you can find her original, vintage canvases by Erica Wilson. You can then choose your own colors and bring her needlework design to life with your hands. 

Some of the needlepoint projects you can throw yourself into include Garden Birds, Shepherd and Shepherdess, William Morris Compton, American Flag, and Nantucket Stealie. They make a perfect keepsake for your Nantucket holiday! Choose Nantucket-focused designs if you want to keep them as a holiday memory. 

To improve your needlepoint stitches and needlepoint design, purchase one of the original Erica Wilson books online or in-store. If you are an experienced needleworker, expand your skills with Erica Wilson’s vintage “Smocking” book or Erica Wilson’s vintage “Crewel Point” book. There is also the “Animal Kingdom Book” if you want to get into needleworking animals. Nantucket has plenty of animals for inspiration, such as deer, squirrels, seals, and aquatic species!
